An attack on Iran's southern coast and islands will lead to Gulf routes being cut with the laying of sea mines, the country's Defence Council said on Monday, according to state media. The US is considering plans to occupy or blockade Iran's Kharg Island, the country's main oil export hub, to pressure Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to all shipping, according to Axios. In an astonishing turn of events, a man in Chile became a millionaire after discovering an old passbook hidden away in his house. Exequiel Hinojosa found the 62-year-old passbook while cleaning, unaware that it would change his life forever. The passbook, which belonged to Hinojosa’s late father, had been issued by a now-defunct bank. The money had been deposited in the 1960s-70s, with the intention of buying a house, but the family had no knowledge of it. Initially, Hinojosa believed the passbook was worthless, but the words "State Guarantee" caught his eye, indicating that the government would repay the money if the bank went under. After a legal battle with the government, Hinojosa successfully claimed the funds, which amounted to $1.2 million, making him a millionaire overnight. This incredible story is a reminder that sometimes fortune can be found in the most unexpected places.
