Most United States voters say their finances have worsened since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, with less than three months to go before the November midterm elections, according to a Financial Times poll. The Focaldata poll found that 53% of registered voters felt worse off under Trump, including nearly 57% of independents and almost one-quarter of Republicans. Nearly two-thirds said the US economy was moving in the wrong direction, while just 25% said it was heading in the right direction. Ukrainian forces overnight struck two oil refineries in Russia's Samara region and Vysotsk port, which houses a Lukoil terminal, as well as an oil depot in Russia-occupied Crimea, Kyiv's drone forces commander said. The Syzran and Novokuibyshevsk refineries came under the strikes, Robert Brovdi said on the Telegram app. Russia unleashed its deadliest attack so far this year on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and other cities Wednesday night, killing at least 17 people, including a 12-year-old child, and wounding scores, in drone and missile strikes, officials said on Thursday. The port is home to a major oil refinery as well as an export hub for oil, coal and fertiliser. Overnight in Kyiv, fires in several different places sent black smoke billowing into the sky. Its heavy smell lingered through the morning as residents and emergency crews cleaned debris scattered around heavily damaged buildings, including apartment blocks and a hotel.
